DIY Birthday Card

Date

If you’re anything like me you never have cards on hand. So it’s either running to the store last minute, or making my own! This is a super easy birthday or any occasion card with a hidden money/gift card slot for the next time you’re in a bind or just want a fun, easy project!

Supplies:

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Marker
  • I used my label maker for the writing (optional)

Instructions:

Cut your piece of cardboard to desired size and shape.

Very carefully poke a slit between the layers of the cardboard to fit the money or gift card. I slowly began slicing the layers in between until I got the right size.

Write your message on the front of the cardboard. I just wrote it up on my label maker. Linked here. I also wrote a little birthday message on the back side of the cardboard.

Get creative! I drew on a simple flower design with a sharpie but you could glue on photos, string on some greenery, or whatever your heart desires!

Cut your ribbon to the desired length.

Fold your ribbon in half, place the money or gift card in the middle of the layers (now you have a money-ribbon sandwich) and place the sandwich in the slot.

Leave the ribbon sticking out loose, tie it in a bow, whatever you think looks good, and you’re all done!

And there it is, super fun and easy DIY card that anyone would love!
